PGCMLS seeks a dynamic Youth Services Librarian at our Bowie Branch, located next to a high school. This position leads teen-focused programs and services, supervises staff, and oversees daily branch operations.

Essential Duties

• Develop and lead innovative teen programs and outreach.
• Build community partnerships with schools and youth organizations.
• Supervise and train staff; manage schedules and daily operations.
• Oversee the teen and young adult collection.
• Provide reference, reader’s advisory, and technology support.
• Serve as person-in-charge to ensure a safe, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an ALA-accredited program with three years’ professional experience; or equivalent qualifications (see full posting). 
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills, with experience managing diverse teams.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and community outreach skills.
• Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm for working with teens and young adults.
• Strong knowledge of teen literature, trends, and emerging technologies.
• Preferred: familiarity with maker spaces, creative technologies, or gaming resources.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, library databases, and digital tools.
