The Collection Strategies Director performs advanced and highly responsible professional work leading the library system’s collection development program. This work includes:

• Providing strategic direction for acquisitions and technical services
• Overseeing the selection, acquisition, cataloging, and processing of traditional and emerging library materials
• Mentoring and developing professional librarians and administrative staff, building expertise, leadership
  capacity, and consistent best practices throughout the library
• Providing leadership to system-level teams and consultative processes shaping collection policies and
  operating procedures
• Managing vendor relations to support effective materials delivery
• Developing system-wide guidelines for collection development and weeding, enabling branch staff
  to maintain collections that are current, relevant, and customer-focused
• Developing the library materials budget, overseeing expenditures, analyzing usage patterns, and guiding data informed decisions to maximize the impact of library resources
