Join our team at PGCMLS as a Librarian III or Public Services Specialist III, overseeing daily operations, staff, and customer service in the Children’s Services Department at the Oxon Hill Branch Library. You will oversee reference and advisory services, library programs, and community outreach, creating a welcoming and engaging environment that fosters learning and discovery for children ages 0-12.

Essential Duties: 

• Supervise and train staff, manage schedules, and handle escalated issues.
• Oversee reference services, collection development, and assist with circulation as needed. 
• Plan, promote, and approve in-person and virtual library programs.
• Foster partnerships with local organizations and lead outreach efforts.
• Stay current with industry trends.
• Assist at other branches as needed.

Qualifications:

• Librarian: Master’s in Library/Information Science (ALA-accredited); three (3) years of experience,
• Public Services Specialist: Bachelor’s degree; LATI certification; five (5) years of experience.
• Three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
• Ability to meet recertification every five (5) years.
