Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) is the nation’s leading children’s literacy nonprofit. For 60 years, RIF has empowered children to become confident readers by combining access to books with research-backed literacy resources and family engagement. Through partnerships with schools, libraries, and community organizations, RIF reaches millions of children each year—especially those in historically under-resourced communities. Our programs provide high-quality books (print and digital), reading resources, and digital tools that inspire reading motivation and support literacy development for students birth through 8th grade.
